Aurora VRClient Portal

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Aurora Virtual Reality Centre Inc. ("Aurora VR") runs mobile educational VR visits for schools in Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect through auroravr.ca and the client portal, why we collect it, and your choices. We follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, your email, and a password (stored securely by our sign-in provider and not readable by us).
  • Booking details: your school and school board, visit dates, and for each class the teacher's name, grade, number of students, experience and time.
  • Messages: emails you send us and the confirmation emails we send you.
  • Technical data: a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, plus standard hosting logs such as IP address.

What we don't collect

We don't collect student names or any other personal information about students, only the number of students in a class. The cost estimator on our home page doesn't save the postal code you enter.

How we use it

To plan, schedule and run your visit; to quote and invoice; to send booking emails to you and our staff; to keep business records; and to meet legal obligations.

Who can see it

  • Our staff can see accounts and bookings.
  • Anyone you share a booking code with can see the other classes on that booking (teacher name, grade and time) and add their own.
  • Service providers process data for us: Supabase (database and sign-in, stored in Canada), Vercel (website hosting) and Resend (email delivery, processed in the United States).
  • We don't sell personal information.

How long we keep it

While your account is active, and afterwards for as long as we need business and tax records. We generally keep financial records for six years.

Your choices

Email info@auroravr.ca to see, correct or delete your information, or to close your account. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Safeguards and changes

We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure. We will post updates here with a new date.
